I have many palm-sized sketchbooks filled with sketches of people reading, sleeping or gazing away on the subways. Here are some samples, pulled from recent and past travels. Occasionally, I have a sketch of a distracted friend in these books too.

Robin
ROBIN KAPPY received her BA degree from Parsons School of Designand was a graphic artist and illustrator for companies such as McGraw Hill, Bankers Trust, TWA etc. Robin changed her focus when she became a licensed psychotherapist in 1991. She has since participated in art classes and workshops with some of the finest artists/teachers in NYC, including Richard Piloco, Robert Armetta, David Kassan, Christopher Pugliese, Andy Reiss and Robert Zeller. Working from life, her work has won awards and appeared in numerous venues, including her 2016 solo show at Chelsea Classical Studio Gallery; the National Arts Club; the Salmagundi Club; the Atlantic Gallery; Fishs Eddy Gallery; 61 Main Gallery etc. Robin participated in the Hudson River Fellowship in 2013. She has received two honorable mentions in American Artist Drawing Magazine. Her published essays detailing how beauty and the creative process inspire her have been very well received.
